The Course:
B.P.T. :
The institution offers 41/2 years Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree Course.
The Academic period is for a minimum 4 years
and compulsory rotatory internship for a period of 6 months.
M.P.T. :
Since 2005 the Institution also offers a 2 years Master of Physiotherapy
Degree Course and the Academic period is for a minimum of 2 years.
Nature of the Degree Course:
B.P.T. :
During the Course, the students are taught basic medical subjects like
Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Biophysics apart from specialised
subjects like Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardio respiratory system,
Neuro sciences, Paediatrics and Gynecology. In addition Psychology,
Sociology, Medical Electronics, Computer Applications etc., are also
taught. Students are also given training in specialized physiotherapy
subjects. These include diagnostic and therapeutic systems based on
bio-physical agents and to accomplish this, students are trained in
Biomechanics, Bioelectronics, Thermo therapy, Cryotherapy, Electromagnetic
radiation therapy, Hydrotherapy, electrotherapy and Exercise Therapy.
The students will be trained in theory and practical of above subjects
in addition to hands on clinical training on patients in hospital and
outpatient clinical setup in the college premises by well qualified
and experienced faculty. Further, the institution arranges guest lectures
and Audio-Visual presentations by experts in the field of medicine and
physiotherapy.
Regulations:
- The course shall start tentatively in the
month of September of every year.
- Students should attend classes regularly
and have minimum 80% of attendance in each subject of study to be
permitted for the exam in addition to satisfactory conduct.
- Students will undergo theory and practical
examinations at the end of 1, 2, 3 and 4 years.
- There will be 1 University exam in
a year tentatively in the month of September/October.
- Students should secure minimum of 50% of
marks in each subject to secure a pass.
- There will be 3 sessional examination in
all the subjects in a year conducted by the institution and the marks
secured will be considered as 'Internal Assessment marks'.
