Vikas Education Trust was started in the year 1993 by eminent personalities with philanthropic nature from diverse fields, with the noble aim of starting higher educational institutions in this coastal education city of Mangalore and imparting world class education at affordable cost.

Physiotherapy was a relatively unknown branch of health sciences at that time but was in urgent need for the well being of the general public.

So the Trust started Vikas College of Physiotherapy with the objective of offering world class, state of the art education to highly motivated and dedicated students. The Institution started Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree course in the year of 1993. The Institution has also started offering Master of Physiotherapy Degree course from the year 2005. The Institution had come a long way to be recognized as one of the premier Institutes of India. The Institution trains students who hail from all parts of India and some parts of the world. The alumni are spread all over the world and render quality health care in leading Hospitals and Health Care Institutions.

The trust also started an out-patient clinic since the beginning to cater to the health care and rehabilitation needs of patients and to impart hands on training to the students. The clinic is equipped with high end devices and provides compassionate and quality care for over 150 patients a day at nominal charges. For those patients who cannot afford the cost of the treatment, the clinic provides the same care and quality free of cost. The Institution has also been rendering clinical service to the poor and needy patients in the Government Wenlock Hospital and children with special needs at St. Agnes Special School, Mangalore.

The management under the dynamic leadership of dedicated professionals has left no stones unturned in providing and equipping the class room, laboratories, clinics, library etc. with the latest and the best quality furniture, equipments and books. These efforts are reflected in the higher percentage of results obtained by the students year after year and also the reputed name earned by the out patient clinic run by the Institution. The Institution is also assisting and guiding the new graduates in securing various job opportunities both in our country and abroad.

The trust has been running only the Physiotherapy College for the past 15 years with the sole aim of maintaining and constantly improving the quality of education and patient care. Since the Institution has been well established now, the Trust has started a sprawling new campus in a serene environment at the Airport Road, Maryhill, Mangalore for the Vikas Group of Institutions. The new campus will presently house the Vikas College of Physiotherapy. In the immediate future professional colleges offering degree programmes in the Management, Information Technology, Arts and Science streams will be started in the campus. Futher, the Trust is also planning to start an inpatient hospital for patients requring Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation services.
